This week Grove Park celebrated National Shakespeare Week with staff and children learning about the playwright and dressing in costumes with links to the Bard's play.

Every class in the school explored an aspect of Shakespeare's life and works. The children read and performed scenes from his plays, learning famous speeches, watching performances, designing costumes and sets, making potions, writing Shakespearian insults and exploring life in the Tudor times.

The week was kickstarted with an assembly from Professor Neil Taylor who shared some interesting facts about Shakespeare and the plays they were exploring.

The school was also lucky enough to have some visiting professional workshops in school which allowed everyone to have a go at performing in a Shakespeare play in front of an audience.

On Friday 18 March they had 'Shakespearian Dress Up Day'.
The children had a chance to show off their costumes at a whole school assembly
