Cavendish Primary School parents and the Deputy Head teacher Mr Simon Shand are taking on the famous London to Brighton bike ride to raise funds for the school's Lighting Project.

The project was set up to raise money for stage lighting in the school's main hall, which has never had any form of lighting.

On Friday 22 September, the group of 10 are leaving from Edensor Road at 9.15am and are inviting the local community to come and wave them off with the school children and staff.

Parents have been training throughout the summer as most of the group are not usually cyclists and have certainly never undertaken such a physical challenge before.

Donations can be made online on Just Giving and cash donations can be handed in at the school office.
