The children of Belmont Primary School have recorded a song which they hope will give people some cheer at this difficult time.

Darkness Turns to Light is an original song written by one of the pupils at the school and is performed on video by the children.

The school says, “It is a beautiful song for hope in dark times and the children absolutely loved learning and singing it. They hope you enjoy it. Please like it!”

Here are the lyrics:
Verse 1
Our world is different from last year
But smile on through , we’ve nothing to fear,
We have our friends and family,
This’ll go down in history

Chorus
We’ll be OK
We’ll be alright
We’ll keep our spirits bright
Just try to fight it
This life is not right but
Soon the dark will turn to light

Verse 2
Listen to your heart
(what does it say?)
It says be strong, we’ll be OK
And you may feel so small
But with love, we’re gonna get through it all

You can download the song from a range of platforms. All proceeds go to Save the Children.

Articles such as the one above are integral to what we do. We aim to feature as much as possible on local societies, charities based in the area, fundraising efforts by residents, community-based initiatives and even helping people find missing pets.
