Latymer Upper School’s Chemistry Department is celebrating its results at this year’s Chemistry Olympiad.

Nikki from Chiswick, a student at Latymer Upper School, has won Bronze at this year’s Chemistry Olympiad.

Nikki scored enough marks to come in the top 33% of all the students competing, to achieve the award as did her peer, Daniel from Shepherd’s Bush. Other pupils at her school, Matilda, Ellen and Sofia took silver and Enrico achieved Gold.

“With over 8,500 entrants to this year’s Chemistry Olympiad, I am delighted that Nikki and her fellow students achieved such stunning results,” said Ed Forbes, Head of Chemistry at Latymer Upper School. “These are excellent achievements in the Chemistry Olympiad which is designed to challenge and inspire, and is a unique opportunity for students to push themselves further and excel in the chemistry field. A huge thank you to Mr Paul for guiding and preparing our top Chemists for this challenge.”

The UK Chemistry Olympiad is the leading chemistry competition for secondary students across the British Isles.
