A Year 11 student at Chiswick School has made history by becoming the youngest player ever to represent AFC Wimbledon.

Justin Clarke was sent on in the closing stages of an EFL Trophy game against League One Wycombe Wanderers at Adams Park this Saturday (18 November).

The striker had been impressing for some time in training after joining the Dons from Chelsea’s development programme. However, he was unable to prevent his team falling to a one-nil defeat.

Despite that he relished the occasion saying afterwards, “I missed school on Friday to train with the first team for the day. I’ve just had my mocks as well. School and exams are important too. The players welcomed me in and they involved me in everything. It was a good feeling”.

He said his next aim was to get a goal and make an impact in the first team.

Mr Gorvin, Assistant Head at Chiswick School, said, “This was a great opportunity for Justin and he did brilliantly, we are proud of his achievements and also his dedicated attitude to school”.
