Pupils and staff at Chiswick Community School were given the opportunity to have their mobile phones marked with their home postcode at a ‘Property Marking Event’ which took place at the school on Monday 3rd Oct.

Mobile phones, statically the most prevalent item stolen from youths, were post coded with an Ultra-violet pen and recorded on a database.

The scheme is being run under the Safer Schools partnership programme between the School and Local Police

Schools officer PC John Lane from Chiswick Police said ”It is hoped that this will act as a major deterrent to any would-be thieves, and help in the return of any lost or stolen phones to the rightful owner. It is also a great example of the Police and the local school working together to address issues that affect the community.”
