The new headteacher at Grove Park Primary School has already been praised for her strong leadership by Government inspectors.

Ofsted visited the Chiswick school only two weeks after Marion Lee began as head and were impressed by the responsive and caring pupils, and the ways in which staff helped them grow in confidence.

Mrs Lee said “I am really proud of the children who showed the inspectors how much they loved the school – our caring atmosphere really shone through in the report.”

The inspectors commended the newly appointed head and her deputy, Victoria Gardyne, for having the capacity to take the school forward and build on recent improvements in standards.

The inspection is one of the first to take place under the new inspection regime which, as well as having much shorter notice than before, take into account how schools promote good health.

The school were found to offer outstanding opportunities for pupils to adopt healthy lifestyles, not only in the classroom, but also in the canteen where they benefit from organic, well prepared meals.

Mrs Lee continued “The new inspection arrangements mean you have very little notice that Ofsted are coming, but thanks to the ongoing hard work of my excellent deputy Miss Gardyne and all the staff, we were in a position to show the inspectors exactly how results have improved over recent years, and where we want to be in the future.”
