Ann Keen is backing a local school's head teacher's calls for money to be made available for the development of a new block.

The MP for Brentford and Isleworth visited Strand-on-the Green school recently to call for new funding to demolish an old toilet block and for the construction of a new classroom block with disabled access for children and parents, IT facilities and toilets.

Ann said, “Another winter is approaching and it is unacceptable for children and staff to be enduring these conditions. I am supporting the school in their request for desperately needed
funding to carry out this improvement work.”

Jeanette Davies, the Headteacher at Strand-on-the-Green school said, “Despite being a high achieving school, the condition of the building remains a barrier to further progress and negatively impacts on the 'Every Child Matters' agenda.”

Ann Keen is lobbying the Department for Education and Skills for the necessary funding and has met with Ministers to discuss the school.
