A “very affordable B&B" in Chiswick has found itself with scant company after tourists slated London – and the rest of the country – as a holiday destination.

The poll carried out by travel website TripAdvisor.co.uk found tourists unimpressed with, well just about everything about London ranking it a humiliating 84 out of 100 of best destinations.

Other British cities, including Bath, Edinburgh and Stratford-upon-Avon, faired better in a separate poll of European cities though London failed to even make the list.

However, in amongst the complaints, grievances and criticisms was praise for a “very affordable B&B” in Chiswick, an area which is thought of as being ‘safe’. "I've been on the High Road after midnight many times without feeling threatened," commented one happy camper.

Milford Sound in New Zealand was voted the world's top destination, followed by Queenstown in New Zealand. The Greek island of Rhodes was deemed the best in Europe.
