A man has died after being hit by a Piccadilly line train at Ravenscourt Park tube station in Hammersmith.

The fatality occurred at around 7pm on Sunday (15 January). British Transport Police (BTP) were called to the scene where they discovered the body of the victim on the eastbound Piccadilly line. Trains on this line do not stop at Ravenscourt Park at the time of the incident.

The Piccadilly line was closed between Acton Town and Green Park for about two hours and there were severe delays on the rest of the line through the evening.

A BTP spokesman said "The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
