Chiswick Park station was closed last Thursday morning (11 October) following an incident in which a person died after being hit by a train.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said, "Officers were called to Chiswick Park Underground station at 8.55am today after reports of a person being struck a train.

"Colleagues from the London Ambulance Service also attended, however, a person was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

"Officers are working to identify the person and inform their family. This incident is not currently being treated as suspicious."

Transport for London closed the station for some time as the emergency services and police were called to the scene.

An Air Ambulance helicopter landed on the western corner of Acton Green and took off again shortly before 10am.

The District (Turnham Green to Ealing Broadway) and Piccadilly (Hammersmith to Acton Town westbound only) lines were suspended for some time and reopened.
