A Conversational Evensong With Lord Ramsbotham

Forthcoming event at St Nicks

The next Conversational Evensong will take place at St Nicholas Church on Sunday 4 February at 6.00pm, when the guest will be Lord Ramsbotham.

Lord Ramsbotham was commissioned into the Rifle Brigade in 1957, and in the rank of General, and as an ADC (General) to HM the Queen, served in Germany, Kenya, Hong Kong, Borneo, Northern Ireland and Gibraltar as well as England.

He then went on to become Director of International Affairs for DSL Ltd, working on post-conflict reconstruction including demining. He was appointed Chief Inspector of Prisons for England and Wales 1995-2001. In 2005 he was appointed crossbench member of House of Lords, where he concentrates on all aspects of penal reform, and defence matters.
