Volunteers get deserved recognition

Both local volunteer agencies win Outstanding Achievement Award

The two agencies that coordinate volunteer work locally have been award by Volunteer Development England. Volunteer Development England is the membership association for volunteer bureaux in England. The Hounslow Volunteer Agency (HVA) and the Ealing Volunteer Bureau were given the Outstanding Achievement Award.

The HVA is funded by the London Borough of Hounslow, and would particularly welcome more volunteers from the Chiswick end of the borough. The telephone number is 020 - 8583 2626, or you can register your interest on the HVA website, www.volunteerhounslow.org.uk. Opportunities nationwide are also listed on www.do-it.org.uk.

To make an appointment to meet with an advisers from Ealing Volunteer Bureau to discuss how volunteering could help you by helping others give them a call on 020 8579 6273, or visit www.do-it.org.uk

Chris Penberthy, Director of VDE said of the Ealing Bureau, "we are delighted to be able to recognise their work, they have done realy well."

They are always pleased to place residents from outside the borough to work in Voluntary Agencies in the Borough, or indeed residents of the borough with agencies outside the borough boundary.
