Intrepid Chiswick cyclist, Will Watson, is to cycle the 35 miles from Chiswick to Gatwick for charity, carrying a suitcase in his pannier!

Will, (pictured left) a passionate cyclist, was thrown down the gauntlet by fellow ChiswickW4.com postees after he suggested taking a taxi from Olympia to Gatwick rather than cycling! One postee was amused by picturing Will on his way to Gatwick on his bike with a suitcase-another postee said he would “pay money to see that”.

He is well known on the forum for his anti-car/pro cycling opinions (even though he does have some sympathy for the car driver, particularly on The Avenue when faced with the double-decker E3!). He regularly cycles 26 miles to and from work every day and in 2000 raised £3,500 cycling from Lands End to John O’Groats in 8 days.

Will is raising funds for Cystic Fibrosis and plans to cycle on Sunday 26th October 2003. He aims to pass down Chiswick High Road at 11am and have a coffee by the Hogarth sculpture before setting off.

Anyone interested in sponsoring this worthy cause should contact Will Watson through ChiswickW4.com or pledge money on the related forum thread.
