Children and families are invited to join an Easter celebration at 11am on Easter Sunday at the paddling pool on Dukes Meadows. There’ll be eggs to hunt, races and lots of chocolate eggs to be won. This is the first of Dukes Meadows Trust’s free Summer Fun 2014 activities.

The event will celebrate the reopening of the pool after a £17,000 refurbishment that has replaced all the tiling and overhauled the pool plant. Funds for the work have been raised from the trust’s social enterprises; the Food Market and artists’ studios, supplemented by an £8,900 grant from the Big Lottery Awards4All.

Kathleen Healy from the trust said “We are enormously grateful to the Lottery for helping us keep the pool open for families to enjoy. We are also pleased that our original vision of creating a sustainable organisation to improve and maintain the park is working”

Full details of the Summer Fun programme of free family events, including Donkey Rides, Birds of Prey, Circus Workshop and Punch & Judy will be on their Facebook page; The Food Market Chiswick, shortly
