A sharp eyed local resident has noticed that plans submitted to a recent Chiswick Area Planning meeting suggest that Halfords could be opening in Chiswick.

An application to develop 512-518 Chiswick High Road for retail purposes has been received by the Council. This site was formerly the SEAT car showroom. Although the application is in the name of the agent, the plans that accompany it show the name Halfords on included drawings.

The West Chiswick and Gunnersbury Society gave a cautious welcome to the news with one member saying that in terms of amenity this would be very welcome. However, given that Halford Stores are usually open seven days a week they suggested some planning conditions may be necessary to protect the quality of life of residents living above in Mortlake House.

The proposed opening hours are 9-8 Mon-Fri, 9-6 Sat and 10-5 Sun.
