There were a number of honours for local people in the Queen's Birthday honours list.

David Jones, the librarian at the House of Lords was made a CBE and Rod Kenyon, a Director of British Gas Engineering was given an OBE for services to the energy industry.

Margaret Ayers, a warden at Jessop House, which is on Kirton Close behind the health centre, was given the MBE for services to Elderly and Disabled People in Chiswick.

A belated OBE was given to former Chiswick resident Midge Ure for his services to music and charity. Midge is currently involved in organising the Live 8 event.
