Two well known Chiswick residents have been given honours in the New Year's Honours list.

Flamboyant designer Jasper Conran, who moved into Walpole House earlier this year smashing the highest price ever paid for a Chiswick property, was given an OBE for his services to the retail industry.

Fellow riverside resident Desmond Lynam, perhaps more recently known as taking over the Countdown seat after the untimely death of Richard Whitely, was awarded an OBE for his role services to Sport as a Sports Commentator and Broadcaster.
