Reception with wine and music. Traditionally the Preview Party gets the Festival off to a flying start. A delightful opportunity to buy pictures, meet friends and listen to jazz. (NB We cannot accept credit cards)

The Bedford Park Summer Exhibition
An exhibition of works by (mainly) local artists of all ages. All works are for sale. A third of the proceeds will go to the Festival charities. (NB we cannot accept credit cards) The poster promoting the exhibition is by Martin Wharmby. The original will be raffled - tickets on sale during opening times. The Exhibition is sponsored by The Green.

Green Days Fete & Craft Fair
Traditional village Green Days fete has attractions for all the family with Dodgems, Fairground Rides, and a Bandstand - the focus for live music and other events.

Three Houses Exhibition: The Legacy of John Bedford
The man who gave his name to Bedford Park built Melbourne House, Bedford House and Sydney House. He died in 1805. With maps, pictures and census details, Dr DW Budworth traces the 200-year legacy of John Bedford.

Bach by Candlelight
The West London Bach Consort and Players - conductor Radio 3's Sandy Burnett - continue their Bach cantata cycle at St Michael's. The perfect end to the razzmatazz of Green Days. BWV 145 Ich lebe, mein Herze, zu deinem Ergötzen. BWV 97 In allen meinen Taten.

Celia Brayfield: Desperate Housewives of Bedford Park

Bestselling novelist Celia Brayfield exposed the Desperate Housewives of Bedford Park in her Westwick novels, then moved to south-west France for a year. She talks about writing books and living the dream, from Chiswick to Biarritz.

Mozart: Barry Jobling
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: an appreciation of his life and work, in words and music. Given by ‘Opera Lectures' maestro Barry Jobling (piano) and Lisa Rijmer (soprano).

Love in the Park
An evening of love poems, introduced by local poets Anne-Marie Fyfe & Cahal Dallat with special guest, actor John Rowe.W.B. Yeats wrote many moving love poems in Woodstock Road. G.K. Chesterton and George Bernard Shaw both fell in love with Bedford Park residents. Bring your favourite poem (up to 40 lines!) or simply sit back and listen to romantic favourites chosen & read by others.

The annual Open Studios scheme in Chiswick, Hammersmith and Shepherd's Bush. Over 40 artists are exhibiting.

Exhibition of work by pupils at Orchard House School, at the end of a week of workshops and other art activities in the school.

Wine Tasting & Supper
Reviving a popular Festival tradition, an introduction to wines from the Cape area of South Africa. Duncan Ouseley will take you through a selection of wines, followed by supper in a lovely Bedford Park house and garden.

David Juritz and friends play Mozart's Hunt Quartet and an autobiography in music, Bedrich Smetana's quartet From My Life, with Helen Hathorn, Caroline Dale, Andrew Brown and Paul Edmund Davies.

Artists in Residence: The Pissarro Family in Chiswick
An illustrated lecture by Professor Simon Shorvon. Camille Pissarro was the father of French impressionism. His son Lucien and granddaughter Orovida were influential figures in British art, who lived and painted in Stamford Brook and Bedford Park, where Camille visited them. With slides of their paintings, drawings and printing work in Chiswick, and personal photos and letters.

A Midsummer Night's Daydream
Performances from three Bedford Park schools: A Midsummer Night's Dream by Chiswick & Bedford Park; choral works by the Arts Educational School; and, after the interval, a concert by three professional musicians who teach at Orchard House. Wine and soft drinks available

Bedford Park Photographic Exhibition and Competition
For photographers of all ages. Entry forms from Snappy Snaps, the Parish Office, and Lad's Newsagents, Bedford Corner. Overall winner to be judged by photographer Vibeke Dahl. Raffle tickets on sale for a sitting and portrait by Vibeke Dahl. Draw at Prize Giving.

Lunchtime Guitar Recital
Compelling and charismatic, Mexican guitarist Morgan Szymanski plays classical favourites leavened with thrilling virtuoso contemporary music. A member of YCAT and winner of many prizes, he has given recitals at the Wigmore Hall, Purcell Room, and major concert venues and festivals here and abroad. Bring a picnic to eat in the garden.

Champagne Piano Recital Peter Bithell plays Debussy
International concert pianist and winner of the Rachmaninoff Prize, Peter Bithell plays Debussy Preludes from Book II. The concert takes place in one of Bedford Park's beautiful houses. Champagne and canapés in the garden.

A tour of the key architectural features of Bedford Park led by local architect, John Scott and lecturer Dr Pam Bickley. The walk will finish at the St Michael's Parish Hall where cream teas will be on sale.
