This year's Bedford Park Festival will begin with the traditional Green Days fete and Craft Fair on June 7th and 8th, followed by a fortnight of arts and events including a number for the younger members of the community.

Not only will there be the funfair and children's corner on Green Days but three football tournaments, a treasure hunt in Turnham Green Terrace, a fancy dress parade, a photography competition and of course the Pop Idol talent contest on Sunday June 8th.

And don't forget the children's musical Honk!, inspired by the Ugly Duckling and performed by St Michael's Junior Choir.

Last Saturday evening, Daniel Pirie, who stunned us with his dancing on Pop Idol five years ago, appeared on ITV1's Britain's Got Talent and was selected for the next round.

Daniel's performance on Green Days inspired another boy, Lewis Walker, to take up dance - and he won Pop Idol the following year.
