Chiswick Churches for Justice and Peace joined with Marks & Spencer to promote the sale of Fairtrade goods to the public during “Fairtrade Fortnight”.

"This was a great success and leaflets were handed out to over 200 people, many of whom asked questions about the issue." a spokesman for the group said "The local MP, Ann Keen, came to support the event, Fair Trade being a cause which is close to her heart."

The number of Fairtrade products being produced, and that are available in the shops, has increased enormously in the last year. The London Borough of Hounslow is now a “Fairtrade Borough” and many of the Churches in Chiswick, including Our Lady of Grace & St Edwards, are Fairtrade Churches.

Chiswick Churches for Justice and Peace campaigns on such issues and arranges three public meetings a year when eminent speakers come and talk about national and international social concerns.
