The Parish of Our Lady of Grace and St Edwards has chosen Chiswick based charity Bhola's Children as the beneficiary of their Lenten Project 2010.

Every year parishioners make suggestions for charities they would like to support. Over the past years ten of thousands have been rasied for organisations such as the International Refugee Trust.

The main aim of Bhola's Children is to provide accommodation, education and medical treatment for orphaned and disabled children on Bhola, a large
island in the Bay of Bengal, in Southern Bangladesh.

The charity is currently aiming to raise £80,000 to create a new building to house workshops and dressmaking rooms, with staff accommodation above.

"We hope to contribute to this important work by raising £25,000 which would enable the building of two workshops, a tailoring room, and for them to be equipped," a spokeswoman for the charity told ChiswickW4.com.
