Dentist Dr Raffaella Gabassi is set to swap her Chiswick treatment rooms for villages in Vietnam in a quest to provide free dental care and health education to children and adults living in poverty.

She will be travelling to Vietnam with humanitarian organization Dental Mission For Children (DDS4Kids) which is charity with the exclusive purpose to provide free dental care treatment and preventive dental health education on a long-term basis to children and adults living in deep poverty in remote villages around the world.

Raffaella told ChiswickW4.com, "I am about to leave my two little children and husband to join this amazing mission. I will be leaving on the 27th of February to go to Vietnam and provide Dental Care and relief with a group of volunteers for two weeks.

"I will completely pay for my own trip, all donations will go straight to the buying of equipment and materials needed to help the children living in rural Vietnam."

She added, "As Christmas is approaching it could not be a better time for giving and thinking of the less fortunate children. Please help me help those less fortunate than us, please help them smile."

DDS4Kids' short term goal is to lessen the pain and suffering caused by dental diseases and teach their patients how to prevent sickness and live with better health.

Their long term goal is to empower the local communities so they can help themselves and improve the health of future generations. They are the ones who can truly make a difference in the long run for their own communities.
