Come and join in the fun this Sunday September 26th at the Chiswick House Gardens Dig Show, now in its sixth year. The show starts at 10.30 and finishes with Best in Show at 3.45.

The show headline sponsor is Chiswick estate agency Edward d’Arc of Turnham Green Terrace, with supporting sponsorship of rings by CJ Hall veterinary surgeons of Acton Lane, and of the show programme by Southfields Grooming, also of Acton Lane.

Extra attractions at the show include the ever-popular agility demonstrations from Capable Canines, face painting, the new Have-A-Go-Agility course, and Dogs Trust Parade at 11.05. For canine visitors there are 14 classes to enter including Best Young Handler, Fancy Dress, Best Trick as well as the handsomest/prettiest age classes. (See www.chowgroup.co.uk for pre-register before the show and avoid the queues.)

For human visitors there’s a wealth of refreshments on offer from the barbecue, creperie, ice cream parlour, teas & coffees tent and licensed bar.

Celebrity judges this year include Chiswick actors James Dreyfuss and Holly Aird, investigative journalist Tom Mangold, author of The Badness of King George Judith Summers, and Kevin McNally, fresh from the set of Pirates of the Caribbean IV.

Organisers report that over 400 dogs were entered into classes at last year’s show and hope to grow that figure again this year.

With over 30 stalls including many local charities and businesses as well as refreshments and 15 classes to watch it’s a truly great day out for the whole family whether you own a dog or not.

Come and enjoy this free event in the surroundings of Chiswick House Gardens. (Chiswick House Gardens 2010 Dog Show is organised by CHOW in association with Chiswick House Friends and Chiswick House Gardens Trust.)
