Stuck for something to do over the school holidays? Easter may be over and the Easter egg supply sadly low, but why not get cracking and write a poem?

The Chiswick Book Festival’s Young People’s Poetry Competition is free and open to children aged between 8-12 years.

Entries must be received by the final deadline of Monday 6th June 2016. Entry is by post only, email copies are not acceptable.

You can enter via your school or individually by post (but please take a photocopy of your poem as entries cannot be posted back).

Poems can be on any topic up to a maximum of 25 lines and there are prizes awarded within each year group.
