Many of the stories that tour guides tell about the city, and its river, turn out to be untrue, or at least a distorted version of the truth. Drawing from his new book - Everything You Know About London Is Wrong – Matt Brown will discuss some of the myths and misconceptions about the river, its bridges, and the buildings along its banks on 25 October 25 at Chiswick Pier Expect plenty of facts, counter-facts and peculiar anecdotes as Matt picks apart some Thames trivia.

Matt Brown has been writing professionally about the capital for over a decade. As editor and now editor-at-large of Londonist.com, he's explored parts of the city that few get to see. He has written two books about the capital: London Night & Day (2015) and Everything You Know About London is Wrong (July 2016), both published by Batsford.

Doors open at 7pm and the illustrated talk will start at 7.30pm. Tickets are £3, or free to members of the Chiswick Pier Trust. Refreshments and signed copies of the book will be available to purchase.

For further information on the Pier and how to get there, contact the Chiswick Pier Trust 020 8742 2713, or check their web site.
