The Thames in summer is a magical place and to help celebrate this, the Chiswick Pier Trust are running a photo competition, inviting images that capture the summer mood of the river around the pier between Chiswick Eyot and Barnes Railway Bridge. Entries from all ages are welcome, so the whole family can have a go!

Photos have to be in by 31st May 2008 and there’ll be a grand prize-giving at Chiswick Pier House on June 7th followed by an exhibition of the entries. Snappy Snaps Chiswick are providing expert advice on running the competition and are offering a 50% discount on A4 prints for competition entries, which means an A4 print will cost £5.

The judging will be done by a professional independent photographer and Snappy Snaps are providing the prizes of photographic vouchers worth £70 for First Prize, £50 for Second and £25 for third prize. There’ll also be £50 worth of vouchers for the Best Effort and lots of Highly Commended awards, so get those cameras out and help make sure the result is a photo exhibition worthy of our local river! Even if you are not entering, the exhibition should be well worth a visit..

For full information on how to enter, please go to the Events page on www.chiswickpier.org.uk, e-mail photos@chiswickpier.org.uk or pick up an official entry form from the lobby of the Pier House.
