Hilary Campbell, Musical Director for Chiswick Choir, will conduct an evening of music inspired from both traditional and contemporary settings.

The much celebrated arrangements of Moses Hogan, a 20th Century composer from New Orleans, are to be performed, as well as the work of Josh Rutter, whose choral work has been performed internationally.

Hogan’s published work includes his uplifting arrangement of “This Little Light of Mine”, as well as the spiritual “Ev’ry Time I Feel the Spirit”, from which the concert takes its name. John Rutter has last year released the CD “Visions”, inspired by Jerusalem, and his most celebrated choral arrangements include “My true love hath my heart”.

Joanna Weeks is to perform as soprano soloist. Weeks has an extensive career in Opera, having performed in La Traviata with Go Opera, a pop-up performance in Hackney Wick, as well as productions at the Surrey Opera. Liam Dunachie will also be performing as a pianist. Dunachie has also worked as Musical Director for the West End musical “Hairspray” during its 2015 tour, and featured as a pianist and arranger on the 2015 UK Official Charts Christmas No.1 Single with the NHS Choir.

Musical Director of Chiswick Choir Hilary Campbell has previously chorus mastered for the BBC Symphony Chorus at the BBC Proms in 2016. The choir says it has been flourishing under her direction.

The concert will take place at 7.30pm on Saturday 8 July, at St Nicholas’ on Church Street, Chiswick W4 2PH. Tickets cost £15 , and concessions for 65+ and students are £12., Under 18s can attend for £5.
