The Oratorio Choir will perform Rossini's "Petite Messe Solennelle", and the Chamber Choir, Morten Lauridsen's moving "Nocturnes", both conducted by Music Director David Wordsworth.

The performance takes place on Saturday 9th July at St Michael & All Angels Church, Bath Road, Chiswick.

Rossini's 'Petite Messe' certainly isn't little and most definitely not solemn, rather an almost operatic romp, full of good humour and memorable tunes, uniquely accompanied by piano and harmonium.

'Nocturnes' by the American composer Morten Lauridsen, whose music has achieved almost iconic status in the US over the past few years, is quickly becoming equally popular in Europe. This piece written as recently as 2005 shows the wide-range of the composer's literary tastes, setting texts by Rainer Maria Rilke, James Agee and a love sonnet by Pablo Neruda.

Tickets are £10 in advance (£8 concs / £2 under 16's), or £12 / £10 / £2 on the door. Online tickets available from www.wegottickets.com/f/2578.
