Would you like to sing a solo piece in one of the concerts at the Grove Park Music Festival? If so then why not enter our singing competition?

As part of the 2004 Festival we are organising a singing competition for 13 to 15 year olds and 16 to 18 year olds as at 1st September 2004. The winners of each of these categories will have the opportunity of singing a solo item at the festival in the summer as well as receiving a voucher kindly donated by The Kensington Music Shop.

The competition will take place between 2:00-3:30 (13-15 years old) and 4-5:30 (16-18 years old) on Sunday 7th March 2004 at St Michael’s Centre Elmwood Rd, Sutton Court.

You will be asked to sing one classically based piece lasting no more than 4 minutes. The accompanist will be Christopher Glynn and the judges the international operatic singers Sally Burgess and Ian Partridge – all three of whom will be appearing in the festival.
Entry forms can be obtained from Mrs. Diana Goodeve-Docker, 60 Stamford Brook Road, London W6 0XL; tel : 020 8743 6172; fax : 020 8740 0686; email : dianagd@btinternet.com and must be returned by Saturday 14th February 2004 together with a £5 entrance fee.
