The popular jazz evenings are starting up again in Chiswick at the Grove Park Hotel, 2 Grove Park Road, near the mainline station. These are now going to be every Friday starting on August 5th.

Eric Gilchrist, who used to organise the Thursday night City Barge sessions said, "I'm delighted that the new management of the Grove Park Hotel is keen to run the jazz evenings there. It¹s a much better room in many ways. There¹s more space, more tables and a larger bar area."

The format of the evening will be as before with Eric playing sax and singing, accompanied by a different guest musician each week.

Starting off the new jazz sessions will be legendary pianist Jack Honeyborne who has accompanied Sammy Davis Jnr, and Peggy Lee and played with most of the famous London big bands of the 50's and '60's, such as Ken Mackintosh, Joe Loss and The Squadronaires.

Eric Gilchrist added, "I'm really looking forward to seeing our many friends again who used to enjoy the Thursday jazz evenings."
