Over fifty children entered the Grovefactor talent showcase at groveSTOCK this year, including two school choirs. The children sang or played a wide variety of musical instruments including piano, saxophone and drums.

The winners were the choir from Grove Park School, in the category best group performance and who sang “It’s a hard knock life” from the musical Annie and “Love is all around us”. The school received a cheque for £100.

Other winners included most promising performer: Sophie Simonds, 10, playing the saxophone, from Broomfield House School, who won £30.00.

Most entertaining performers: Aimee Barrett and friends, singers also from Arts Educational.

The prize award ceremony took place at Grove Park Junior School on Wednesday 12th July 2006.

This year’s Grovefactor judges comprised: Michael Reed (West End musical director),
Annie Skates (vocal coach on X-Factor) and Robert Emery (local musical impresario).

groveSTOCK will return to Grove Park in June 2007.
