Batty evening at the local Nature Reserve
Come for a bat walk on the 3rd September at 7.30pm. Learn more about these endangered furry flying mammals during a short talk and guided walk into the Reserve.
Bats echolocate using high frequency calls that are normally above the range of human hearing and different species of bat make different sounding calls. Learn how you can identify different species of bat using bat detectors.
Ashley White the Park Warden says, “Hearing bats echolocate for the first time is fantastic- It’s like nothing you’ve ever heard before. It’s important to monitor bats for long term population trends because they are important indicators as to the state of the environment.”
This event is FREE of charge. Children under 16 should be accompanied by an adult. For more information contact the Park Warden, Ashley White, on 020 8747 3881, or email gunnersburytriangle@wildlondon.org.uk
The reserve is on Bollo Lane near Chiswick Park tube station.
