After extinguishing the fire, the brigade returned to the scene on Wednesday after locals reported it was smouldering. It is not known what caused the fire. Nobody was injured.
The Gunnersbury Triangle had celebrated its 30th birthday only days previously with a gathering of activisits who had saved it from development.
Fire Brigades throughout London have seen an increase in grass fires due to the heatwave.
The hot weather has taken its toll with grass fires breaking out in several areas of the capital. A fire at Mitcham Common burned an area through grass the size of four football pitches.
