Hogarth Singers Seeking New Recruits Ahead of Spring Concert

If your New Year’s resolution was to join a choir then Hogarth Singers would like to meet you. The Chiswick-based choir describes itself as friendly and sociable and is currently welcoming new members.
It is a non-auditioning choir although the music director will check any new member’s voice. It is, however, very useful to have some choral experience and the ability to read music is most beneficial.
New tenors and basses are especially welcome, and a special subscription rate of £10 per term is offered for any new singers under 25.
The choir rehearses every Monday, 7.30-9.30pm, at its regular concert venue: St Michael and All Angels Church, Bath Road, W4 1TT.
Rehearsals this term start on Monday 9 January leading to a Spring concert on Saturday 18 March . The programme will include Mozart’s Kyrie in D minor and Haydn’s Nelson Mass.
Hogarth Singers evolved from a choir set up in IBM called The Meistersingers in the early 1980s. It is a registered charity which has the aim of promoting a love of choral music and developing public education in the art and science of music in all its aspects by presenting public concerts and recitals.
Membership ranges between 50 – 60 people and it sings a wide range of choral music, both sacred and secular. Three concerts are staged each year but the group also organises other activities which enable the choir to sing in a new setting and to enjoy some more sociable experiences not always involving singing.
