The series of jazz evenings at the George IV pub in Chiswick is continuing with a line-up of some of the top acts from the London jazz and blues scene.

Thursday 3 March – Tim Penn Trio: Singer and pianist Tim Penn has been described as one of the leading ‘go to’ musicians on the London Blues & Roots scene. Back in the 70’s he played with the legendary Dorris Henderson’s Eclection and was in the Kevin Coyne Band alongside Andy Summers (The Police), before going onto become bandleader of the award-winning New Orleans influenced R&B outfit the Second Line.

With Tim on vocals and keys, are guitarist Chris ‘Wah-Wah’ Proctor and the Nigerian saxophonist Ayo Odia ((Fela Kuti, Osibisa), who adds his own unique palette of Afro-Beat and High-Life to the musical gumbo. The trio’s repertoire ranges from early stride piano to the classic New Orleans R&B of Fats Domino, Dr John and Alan Toussaint and other greats of the genre, as they take you on a magical journey through 20th Century American jazz and blues. 7.30pm

Thursday 10 March – Trio Manouche with Italian vocalist Francesca Confortini plus Special Surprise Guests: Following their show at George IV during last year’s EFG London Jazz Festival the Gypsy Swing Jazz ensemble return to the Boston Room along with some very special guests.

As well as performing re-worked classics of the great Gypsy jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt, Trio Manouche will be debuting numbers from their forthcoming new release penned by band leader Simon Harris together with highly atmospheric arrangements of trad swing greats such as Nat King Cole.

Trio Manouche are exponents of Gypsy Swing Jazz, bringing a unique and highly contemporary twist to this ever more popular genre with Simon again being joined by guitarist Giulio Romano and bassist Marcus Penrose along with the celebrated Italian swing vocalist Francesca Confortini.

Between them their playing credits include Gregory Porter, Mark Ronson, Alicia Keys, Kyle and the Puppini Sisters. They have performed in top jazz venues in the UK and abroad, playing major festivals such as the EFG London Jazz Festival, Glastonbury, Secret Garden Party and the Shambala Festival.

Tickets £15 (£13 for Chiswick Club Card members) plus Eventbrite %
