The Chiswick Committee of Macmillan Cancer Support held its AGM recently and Carol Woolner, Chairman, handed to Tamara Justice, Fundraising Manager for North West London, a cheque for £16,000.

The money was raised through a variety of events throughout 2007 – a soup kitchen, a bridge/supper evening, a talk by Gay Search on The Healing Garden, two tennis tournaments, presence at the Fine Art & Antiques Fair at Olympia, the annual Garden Party, the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning and a cello recital held at Holy Innocents Church, W6.

Tamara thanked the Committee on behalf of Macmillan and said that this fantastic amount raised could go toward the Macmillan Haemotology ClS at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital. This clinical nurse specialist will care for people with haematology (blood) cancers, such as leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma, and will be based at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

They will provide specialist advice and support to patients and their families and ensure seamless care is available throughout their treatment. Carol Woolner thanked her committee for their tireless, positive and cheerful teamwork and for their continued interest and support of the charity.
