Old Meads Mental Health Event 'A Tremendous Success'
Professional footballer Albert Adomah joins Jeremy Vine to share insights

The first evening in Old Meadonians FC's programme of events as party of its new Mental Health Initiative has been hailed as a great success.
As billed Chiswick-based broadcaster Jeremy Vine gave a talk at The Pavilion on Riverside Drive on Monday 11 April but, as a surprise bonus, the former Old Mead and current QPR footballer, Albert Adomah, also addressed the audience.
The Meads are aiming to promote better communication between their members and to create an environment where everyone who plays for them feels valued and welcome.
The organisers described the event as a huge success with Jeremy Vine relaying anecdotes of his experiences of over 30 years in journalism and offering the audience an insight in to the challenges of life in the Spotlight.
Albert Adomah attending was an added bonus and he gave everyone an insight in to life as a professional footballer.
Both guests were hailed as outstanding and particularly as they gave up their time willingly. Jeremy Vine has been made an honorary member of OMFC and Albert has promised to return as the main guest at a later date.
About £600 was raised for the 2 charities of the evening, CALM and DEC Ukraine appeal.
Chairman, Ed Glover, described the evening as "a tremendous success", adding "it couldn't have gone any better and definitely my proudest moment, so far, as Meads Chairman."
Another event will be arranged in due course. Entry will always be free.
