Fresh from his glorious victory in the grueling Atlantic Rowing Race, James Cracknell OBE, will be at The Park Club on 5th March 2006 to talk about the extraordinary challenge he shared with Ben Fogle. The two time Olympic champion and Park Club member, will also be sharing some useful rowing tips in a masterclass.

These tips are worth their weight in gold especially since James sadly announced recently that his last incredible conquest was the end of his competitive rowing career.

His decision marks the end of an inspirational and legendary career which began whilst James was at Kingston Grammar School. His international debut came in 1989 in the coxed pair which finished tenth at the Junior World Championships.

With his feet now firmly back on solid ground after his triumphant transatlantic endeavour, James said “Well we are both now back and still trying to come to terms with what we have just done! We are absolutely amazed by the amount of support that we received from everybody and the amount of money that has been raised for Children In Need, thank you all so much. Knowing the support that we were getting really helped us continue to drive for the line after the horror of our boat capsizing. I wonder what we will do next...”

A token charge of £5 per person will be made for the event on the 5th March with all the money raised going to Children in Need.
