Pint of Science is an event which brings some of the most brilliant scientists to your local pub to discuss their latest research and findings with you.

This year there are three talks in the George IV in Chiswick but unfortunately at the time of writing two of them have already sold out.

crystals and nanomaterials

Ticket still remain for the final talk entitled More than the Sum of its Parts by Professor Adrian Sutton FRS (Professor of Nanotechnology, Imperial College London) and Dr Johannes Lischner (Royal Society Research Fellow, Imperial College London).

They will discuss how in the case of crystals and nanomaterials replacing one atom in a billion, or modifying the way they are aligned, changes the overall properties dramatically. Join them to find out how defects in crystals and the contents of a pencil case can lead to novel science.

This talk takes place at 7.30pm on May 17 and tickets are only £4.00 and can be booked online.

The other talks in Chiswick which have now sold out were Infinity and Beyond which was about the expanse of space and Small is Beautiful about the strange behaviour of atoms.
