The Chiswick Proms, a brand-new open-air music festival celebrating comedy, musical theatre and classical music, taking place at Chiswick House & Gardens on 7-9 June 2019.

The full line-up of international headline artistes, alongside local will be announced shortly. The festival will open with a comedy night on the Friday to be followed by a night of music from the musicals and then will conclude with a full orchestra for the finale including the traditional rendition of ‘Jerusalem’. It is hoped that the Chiswick Proms will become an annual event.

Chiswick Proms founder Mike Christie is a Londoner, and his company Amick Productions puts on hundreds of live shows every year across the UK and beyond. He said, "I fell in love with Chiswick House the first time I set eyes on it, and I knew straight away I would like to create an outdoor proms festival here. Chiswick has the most amazing community, and so I wanted to create a special event that would celebrate this in the most stunning setting."

Christie has been singing professionally since the age of 8, and is a classically-trained singer having studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, who still performs all around the world. He has performed at the Hyde Park 'Proms in the Park' and for the past three years running at Opera Holland Park, and has also created and launched the inaugural Wight Proms this summer, which returns to Northwood House on the Isle of Wight in August 2019.

He added, "As a young singer, I was fortunate to have many performing opportunities, and to be surrounded by inspirational people who encouraged me to follow my dreams. Now I want to be able to give something back, so as part of the Chiswick Proms, we will be running free arts workshops to inspire the next generation of budding performers and encourage those who lack confidence. We want to give people exposure to the arts that have never had the chance to experience them before, and for some of them will have the opportunity to perform at the Chiswick Proms."

Tickets will go on sale in the new year. There is a mailing list on the Chiswick Proms website, for those wanting to hear first when tickets go on sale and when the headline performers are announced.
