St Mary's RC Primary School will be holding an auction on Friday 26th April. This year for the first time part of the auction is dedicated to pictures that have been donated by local Chiswick artists.

The pictures will be available for viewing in the Catholic Centre on Duke's Avenue this Sunday, 9am-12pm.

There are paintings by some of Chiswick's most important artists, including a  view of Hammersmith Bridge by Bernard Myers (1925-2007) and a still life by Anthea Craigmyle. There are 11 pictures being offered by a variety of artists and 1 commission being offered by Catherine Masterman to paint a watercolour of the successful bidder's home or favourite Chiswick view. The proceeds from the auction will go towards art resources at the school and the general school fund.

The organisers say this is a great opportunity for Chiswick residents to acquire some beautiful works by local artists while also benefiting local school children.

The auction is by pre-sold ticket only and these will be very limited so if anyone is interested in viewing the paintings they should get in touch to arrange viewing by appointment and any advance or telephone bids are also welcome. You can contact: Georgina Fletcher on 07961-118196 or fletcherparry@btinternet.com.

There is also an opportunity to view the paintings in the Catholic Centre on Duke's Avenue this Sunday (April 21) from 9am-12.
