Following the success of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, St Michael’s Players continues their 65th anniversary celebrations with another classic, “Treasure Island”. This updated, dark version of the classic swashbuckling childhood favourite uses Malcolm Morgan’s much-loved adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson's 19th Century classic tale. This version remains true to the book and brings the undertones of malevolence and anxiety up-to-date and onto the stage! Piracy in 2015 is still alive and kicking; ruthless, merciless and frightening! Originally written to thrill children with adventure-of-old, this production is suitable for a family audience of 9 yrs and upwards.

Young Jim Hawkins is thrilled to take to the seas in search of lost treasure on shores afar in the perception of a safe and caring crew. Is his youthful naïve trust compromised by blood-thirsty selfish manipulation or does his trust and bravery save the day?
