Wife Swap Play to Be Performed at the Tabard
Short run for revival of Fay Weldon’s I Love My Love
A Fay Weldon play in which a TV life swap becomes a wife swap is to be performed at the Tabard Theatre later his month.
Two contrasting wives, country bumpkin Anne and sophisticate Cat, swap places for a week to compare lifestyles for an article in a trendy magazine. Anne finds herself in a chic London apartment with Cat’s slick advertising exec husband, Mark, making regular trips to the hairdresser’s and Harrods. Meanwhile Cat journeys to deepest Devon to bake, cook, clean and toil in the failing village shop with gentle, sexually-repressed, Derek.
They are all deeply unsatisfied with their lives, and more importantly, their spouses, and the life swap becomes a wife swap. However, is the grass truly greener?
The play is being presented by RoAm Productions who are Roxaneh Renton and Amy Braidotti. They met at drama school in New York and explored acting and writing opportunities in NY, LA and Toronto. On their return home to London, they founded their own company to develop projects they feel passionate about. This revival of I Love My Love will be their second production.
Director, Tara Newton-Wordsworth recently won 5 star accolades for the comedy show, NewsRevue on the Edinburgh Fringe.
I Love My Love is on from Tuesday 26 – Saturday 30 April.
Tickets are £17/£15 concession and are available via the Tabard Theatre’s website or call the Box Office on 020 8995 6035.
