A new production at the Tabard has had to add another date after the planned shows quickly sold out.

Simon Vinnicombe's Year 10 is being presented by Just Add Milk.

Year Ten At The Tabard Theatre

The tickets for the two original dates, Friday 28 and Saturday 29 October were snapped up quickly so an extra performance is to be held on Thursday 27 Octobert.

It’s the start of Year Ten, and Jack has been sent to a new school where rife bullying goes unchecked and only the toughest kids can survive.

Fifteen-years-old with bad acne, no confidence, an emotionally unstable mum, a generally useless father, and a keen talent for football, the new kid soon finds himself attracting unwanted attention from the school thugs, and with them comes violence.

Through it all Jack also attracts the more favourable attention of the most beautiful girl in the school, but soon finds this only puts him further in the bullying firing line. Will he crumble and cave, or can their friendship give him the strength he needs to make it through year ten?

Simon Vinniecombe’s play presents a grittily accurate, heart-felt, and at times uncomfortable portrayal of inner-city school life; challenging the idea that our school days are the best days of our life, as this, for many kids, today as always, is often not the case.

This production contains strong language and scenes of a sexual and violent nature.

The running time is approximately 1 hour long with no interval.

Tickets as £14/£12 and can be obtained from the box office on 020 8995 6035 or from www.tabardtheatre.co.uk.
