Two Chiswick based filmmakers, Adam Lawrence and Nate Birdi, are looking for support to help fund their short film, STRIPPED, which is shooting next month (March 2018) in the Chiswick area.

STRIPPED is about a man who uncovers a dark secret above his father’s nightclub. The secret is a young refugee, Zeinah, who has been trafficked and held captive there…

Europol recently reported that over 10,000 refugee children have gone missing since arriving in Europe. Says Adam: "Our story is set against this backdrop, which we believe is an important issue, and should be to be brought to the screen."

After investing over £7000 themselves, their crowdrunding campaign so far, has raised another £2,500. They are now seeking a stretch target of £4,700 , towards production design, lighting, colour grading, transport, catering, insurance and festival costs.

Nate is a graduate of the Arts Ed acting course, (he studied English and Creative Dramatic Writing at Kings College London prior to his MA at ArtsEd) and Adam was recently longlisted for a BIFA Award for “most promising newcomer” for his performance in the Morrissey biopic, ‘England Is Mine’. Their cinematographer is Award-winning Fernando Ruiz, and Alan Graves (BAFTA nominated ‘Northern Soul’ and ‘England Is Mine’) is mentoring exec producer.

STRIPPED will be submitted into film festivals worldwide. Adam and Nate are in talks with various refugee charities about eventually playing the film in conjunction with their work, bringing awareness to human exploitation and the refugee crisis, and taking it to the big screen.
