The ChiswickW4 forum has helped local musicians come together to form a band which will play its inaugural gig soon.

Local resident Simon McLinden formed 40 Thieves put together following a post on the ChiswickW4 forum on June 7th last year.

Their inaugural gig will take place at the Duchess of Cambridge, 320 Goldhawk Road W6 on the 29th March at 7.30pm in aid of Oxfam.

On June 7th last year he posted the following: "I'm a 40 something intermediate bass guitar player (Grade 5) looking to start a band mainly for the joy of pretending I'm 20 years younger and the occasional gig.  It's purely for fun, although if we achieve a Christmas no. 1, I won't complain."

He received a number of replies and from them, found drummer Will Beausire, the keyboardist Charlie Makin (his wife was browsing the forum and passed it on) and George Whiteman, guitarist. The band are looking forward to a good turnout on the night.
