Four local parks and green spaces, including Dukes Meadows, Turnham Green, Chiswick Back Common, and Gunnersbury Triangle have retained their 'Green Flag' awards.

There were fourteen parks in the borough of Hounslow awarded Green Flag prizes for 2017/2018 by Keep Britain Tidy.

The image shows the adventure playground at Dukes Meadows, which is run by a Trust with the help of volunteers.

The national award recognises and rewards the best parks and green spaces across the country. A Green Flag flying overhead is a sign to visitors that the space boasts the highest possible standards, is beautifully maintained and has excellent facilities

  • To ensure that everybody has access to quality green and other open spaces, irrespective of where they live.
  • To ensure that these spaces are appropriately managed and meet the needs of the communities that they serve.
  • To establish standards of good management.
  • To promote and share good practice amongst the green space sector.
  • To recognise and reward the hard work of managers, staff and volunteers.
