Local residents’ association The Grove Park Group has announced details of its next free talk for members and interested residents.
The latest in an occasional series of talks on subjects of local interest, it is on ‘Chiswick’s Three Great Houses’, to be given by James Wisdom, Chair of Brentford & Chiswick Historical Society).

Chiswick’s Three Great Houses – a talk in Grove Park, will take place on Wednesday 24 October , at 7.30pm in the church hall of St Joseph's, Bolton Road.

Of the three great houses that shaped the Grove Park area (Chiswick House, Grove House and the Sutton Court Manor House), sadly only Chiswick House remains, but the old lanes, field boundaries and estate walls can still be found, and James Wisdom, Chair of the Brentford & Chiswick Local History Society, will show more details of them in his illustrated talk.

The talk is free and should last around an hour, including questions.

Jonathan Knight, Chair of the Grove Park Group, said ‘We would like to invite all GPG members and other residents interested in knowing more about where they live to join us for a glass of wine at 7:30pm on Wednesday 24 October 2018 in the church hall of St. Joseph’s Church, in Bolton Road. Entrance is free and all are welcome. James has an unbounded knowledge of, and enthusiasm for, our local history, so this talk on the historic buildings which shaped and gave name to our local area is not to be missed’.
