The charity Guide Dogs is appealing for people who live in Chiswick and surrounding areas to volunteer with the newly formed Chiswick branch.

The charity is holding an informational evening at the Outsider Tart, 82 Chiswick High Road on Wednesday June 22 th between 6pm and 8pm. Feel free to drop in to talk to staff about how you can get involved. You’ll also get to meet local volunteers and guide dog owners.

The branch will raise funds and awareness to enable people who are blind or partially sighted to get out and about on their own terms. You could be involved in helping out at local events, social evenings, quiz nights, collections, and selling Guide Dogs items.

We’ll be recruiting for a Co-ordinator and Treasurer for the branch at the event so if you have experience handling money or organising a group please let us know.

Lisa Clayton from Guide Dogs said: “Volunteering is hugely rewarding. Not only do you know you are helping make a positive difference to the lives of visually-impaired people, it is also a great way to get involved with and meet others in your community. "
